School Curriculum

We have a wide and diverse curriculum here at Gnosall St Lawrence. Of course, the fundamentals of literacy and numeracy are the baseline, but within that we have an exciting, stimulating curriculum that challenges imaginations, accommodates a wide range of learning styles and makes great use of our fantastic outdoor environment. We use a variety of schemes such as Read, Write, Inc; White Rose Maths, Purple Mash; and so on. Links to these can be found below. Outside of the classroom we place a strong emphasis on getting active, listening to visiting speakers, watching drama groups and musicians, along with regular trips and residential visits. All of which provide valuable enrichment. Within this model, our children thrive and succeed – achievement is excellent, consistently above both national and county averages.

We follow a two-year rolling curriculum, following Cycle 1 in even years (e.g. academic year starting in September 2016 or 2018) and Cycle 2 in odd years e.g. academic years starting in September 2017 or 2019). The KS1 and KS2 curricula are detailed on their sub-pages; if you would like to know more please contact the school office so that we can direct your enquiry appropriately.
