School Trips & Residentials
Every year we run 3 residential activities. Our Year 4 pupils go to Standon Bowers for 3 days in November, then Year 5 go to Laches Wood for a week in March/April, and in June/July our Year 6 have a week at Shugborough. We believe these residentials are absolutely irreplaceable in our children’s education; they all have new experiences, try out new activities, broaden their horizons and make wonderful friendships. The growth in confidence that comes from tackling the challenges presented is wonderful to see.
Furthermore, the residentials are used as a focus for lots of learning activites once we’re back. These classes also base their asembly on their time away.
All the Outdoor Centres we currently use are run by Entrust, the organisation that has sprung out of the Local Authority. This means that they are, in effect, the Staffordshire Outdoor Education centres. As such, we know the staff are superbly qualified, appropriately checked and thoroughly professional.
