Early Years Premium

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional funding provided by the government to support eligible children and help close gaps in learning and development.

Children may be eligible for EYPP if their parents or carers receive certain benefits. Eligible children can attract additional funding for the pre-school, which is used to enhance learning opportunities, resources and experiences that support children's development.

 

Who may be eligible?

Your child may qualify if you receive one of the following:

  • Income Support

  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

  • Child Tax Credit (provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and your annual income does not exceed the current threshold)

  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

  • Universal Credit (subject to eligibility requirements)

How we use our Early Years Pupil Premium Funding

We are committed to using EYPP funding to provide high-quality learning experiences and resources that support children's development, confidence and wellbeing.

 

Previously, EYPP funding has enabled us to purchase:

  • Communication and language resources to encourage social interaction and cooperative play

  • Role-play and imaginative play equipment

  • Resources that promote collaborative learning and creativity

 

Most recently, we have used our funding to enhance both our indoor and outdoor learning environments by

purchasing a range of resources that encourage:

  • Physical development

  • Communication and language skills

  • Imaginative and creative play

  • Problem-solving and exploration

  • Social interaction and teamwork

 

These resources help us provide engaging learning experiences that support all children in reaching their full potential.
